David Ferbrache is the managing director of Beyond Blue, a boutique consultancy specialising in operational resilience for large corporate and financial institutions, national cyber security strategy and executive exercising. David works with some of the largest banks in the UK, Ireland and overseas on scenario testing, supply chain security and broader resilience topics. David has had a 30 year career in cyber security, space and resilience, and has won multiple awards along the way including UK cybersecurity personality of the year and BCI European business continuity consultant of the year. His was previously the chair of the National Cyber Resilience Advisory Board for Scotland, and is a fellow of the British Computer Society and Institute of Information Security. In his previous career David was the global head of cyber futures for KPMG, as well as holding various Ministry of Defence senior civil services roles including as Head of Industrial Strategy and latterly Head of Cyber and Space. He was also the Deputy Director for Intelligence in the capability area of MOD, in which role he led on our engagement with allies on future space capabilities. He was made an OBE for his contribution to national security post 9-11 in that role. In his spare time, David is also a reservist and Major in the Royal Signals.
