Jonas Radtke is COO and co-founder of OKAPI:Orbits GmbH, a German start-up with the mission to enable safe and sustainable spaceflight for humanity. With their space traffic management platform, OKAPI:Orbits currently enables automated collision avoidance for more than 100 satellites in Earth orbit.
Jonas holds a graduate degree in aerospace engineering from TU Braunschweig. After finishing his studies, with research stops at the University of Queensland in Australia, Airbus Defence and Space, and the German Aerospace Center in Stuttgart, he was a research associate at the Institute of Space Systems, TU Braunschweig, on the topic of the long-term evolution of the space debris environment. His work has been published in several peer-reviewed publications in top-ranking journals of this field. In the context of his research, he was external expert in the German Delegation to the Inter-Agency Space Debris Coordination Committee (IADC). Aside from his research, he has managed and implemented several activities from the European Space Agency and DLR in the fields of space debris mitigation, space surveillance and tracking, and space situational awareness.
